I don't think you're cheesy at all. It sounds like what you're describing is the difference between extraverts and introverts. I, like you, enjoy being surrounded by people, in particular with those I consider close. I think people are fascinating and I want to hear them talk about the things they're passionate about or what makes them feel grounded or what makes them tick. When I'm left alone with my own thoughts, I tend to wander and get lost. So, I just have to say that you're not alone in thinking that way.
